ARAL is a sub-division of the Key Laboratory of Vertebrate Evolution and Human Origins, with its specialization in the extraction and analysis of plant microfossil, functional analysis of prehistoric artifacts, and other areas relevant to the human-plant interaction.

Axio Imager Vario focuses with the nosepiece on the sample. That means that you can achieve high focusing accuracy and repeatability, especially with heavy samples.
With the Hardware Auto Focus you profit from precise, fast focusing of reflective samples, which are poor in contrast.
With Axio Imager Vario in combination with LSM 700 you analyze sensitive samples in high resolution without contact.
Axio Imager Vario is certified according to DIN EN ISO 14644-1 and meets the requirements of clean room class 5.

A zoom ratio of 15 to 1 provides the SMZ1500 with a range of magnifications from 0.75x to 11.25x for a total magnifying capability of 3.75x up to 540x, depending on the oculars and objectives selected. Click stops on the instrument's zoom knob allow the microscopist to zoom from 1x to 11x at 1x-intervals without interrupting observations. Other facets of the SMZ1500 optical system include high-eyepoint eyepieces with built-in diopter adjustments, a wide field of view, and a built-in aperture diaphragm for achieving optimal depth of focus and improved photomicrography.
Maximum System Expandability
Using core technology from Nikon's renowned Eclipse Ti inverted research microscope, the Ni-E offers versatile multi-mode system expandability to suit a vast range of imaging possibilities.
The proprietary "stratum structure" design and expandable infinity space enables the addition of multiple turrets, detectors, laser inputs and other accessories.
The Ni-E is also configurable for multiphoton imaging, as well as fixed-stage configurations to meet the demands of neuroscience applications.
Advanced MotorizationTo meet the need for more versatile experiment techniques, more motorized options, such as filter wheel, high-speed shutter and photoactivation unit, are now available.
